Create a Temporary Database
As I have mentioned earlier in this blog, there is a better way to handle temporary tables.
This demo shows how to create a temporary database file and then populate it with temporary data. Then, It creates a linked table to the temporary database, so the data can be used in the front end. After the process of using the temporary data is completed, the temporary database can be deleted from the system. This demo deletes the temporary database file before it's created again. The linked table in the FE can also be deleted, or not, depending on the requirements. Creating a linked table is not really necessary. Working with the data in the temporary database can also be achieved using other techniques.
To avoid the security warning when using linked tables, it is recommended that the temporary database is created in a Trusted Location.
Using a termporary database rather than a temporary table can prevent the "database bloat" problem mentioned in the above blog article.
Applicable Versions
This demo was created using Access 2010 and tested using Access 2010 (but it should also work with 2007 and 2013.)
